Pato Box Review and Gameplay | Indie Game Spotlight

Hey! This is my Indie Spotlight! I’ll be talking about various indie games, trying to bring independent studio games some attention that might have been overlooked. After my short review and overview, i’ll be including some of my initial game play.

As a huge fan of the original Punch Out for NES, Pato Box caught my attention right away. Pretty quickly after starting it up, it was quite clear that Pato Box wasn’t just a Punch Out clone and had a lot more to it than dodging various moves. It does still have the general concept of Punch Out, but they’ve added more. The mechanics that you need to learn to fight a boss stands out the most with a lot of added moves and items to dodge or attack. The fights are definitely harder than any fight in Punch Out.

Overall, I had a lot of fun playing Pato Box. Any fan of punch out will thoroughly enjoy this game. The story mode may not be for some, but the arcade is a must play. The boss fights in Pato Box are incredibly done and the unique art style isn’t something you see every day. I’d recommend picking up Pato Box and giving it a go.
